Benylin Dry Cough 125ml

Through its active ingredients, BENYLIN^® Dry Cough helps to suppress the coughing mechanism, reducing the urge to cough and hence making it easier for you to get a good nights sleep.

How it works?

BENYLIN^® Dry Coughs contains dextromethorphan which helps to suppress the cough mechanism, and levomenthol, a decongestant which works to help relieve stuffiness in the nose to help make breathing easier. It also contains diphenhydramine which works to help relieve a runny nose.

What is a dry cough?

A dry cough is also known as a non-productive cough because it does not produce any phlegm. Dry coughs are caused by an inflammation of the upper airways caused by dust, foreign bodies or an infection.

Directions for use:

For oral use only.

Do not use more than the stated dose shown.

Adults and children aged 12 years and over:

Take two 5 ml spoonfuls 3 to 4 times a day

Not suitable for children under 12 years

Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours. If symptoms persist, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Warnings:

• May cause drowsiness. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery.
• Do not exceed the stated dose
• Consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking any other medication or are being treated for any medical condition.
• Avoid alcoholic drink
• Children should be supervised whilst taking this product.
• This product may potentiate the effects of alcohol and other central nervous system depressants.
• Do not take this product for persistent or chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma or emphysema or if the cough is accompanied by excessive phlegm, unless directed by a doctor.

Contains:

The active ingredients in 5ml are: 14mg Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride, 6.5mg Dextromethorphan hydrobromide and 2mg Levomenthol

Other ingredients are: Liquid glucose, sucrose, ethanol, glycerol, sodium citrate, saccharin sodium, citric acid monohydrate, sodium benzoate (E211), caramel (E150), raspberry flavour, carbomer, Ponceau 4R (E124) and water. 

This product contains 5% ethanol (alcohol)
