Sidena 50mg

Sidena is a non-prescription treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED) in men aged 18 and over. It contains 50mg sildenafil, the same active ingredient found in prescription ED medicines, available in packs of four or eight tablets. It is manufactured by Rowa Pharmaceuticals, based in Bantry, Co. Cork. 

Like all sildenafil-based treatments, Sidena works by increasing blood flow to help achieve and maintain an erection when sexually stimulated.

Sidena isn't suitable for everyone, including men taking nitrates or with certain cardiovascular conditions. Our pharmacist assessment checks this before your order is approved. Always read the label and Patient Information Leaflet before use.

Product Details:

  • Name: Sidena 50 mg Tablets
  • Form: Light blue, round, slightly dotted tablet
  • Markings: Cross breaking notch on one side and an imprint of “50” on the other side

Composition:

  • Active Ingredient: Sildenafil citrate equivalent to 50 mg of sildenafil per tablet.
  • Excipient with Known Effect: Contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per tablet, essentially ‘sodium-free’.

Dosage & Administration:

  • Recommended Dosage: One tablet as needed, approximately one hour before sexual activity.
  • Maximum Frequency: Do not exceed one tablet in a 24-hour period.
  • Advice on Consumption: Can be taken with or without food. Avoid taking with grapefruit juice.

Safety Information:

  • Age Restriction: For adult men aged 18 and over.
  • Not Suitable For: Women, minors, individuals who do not have erectile dysfunction, and those with certain health conditions as listed in the contraindications.

Shipping Schedule

We aim to ship all goods within 5 working days of receipt of payment from our Webstore based at our Kinsale Road Roundabout, Cork location. If goods are in-stock and don't require a medical consultation, they are usually dispatched in 1-2 working days. 

We work exclusively with DPD couriers. We do not ship on weekends or Bank Holidays. If any goods are out of stock, we will advise you of an expected availability date. Please ensure you include a contact telephone number when ordering with us.

Returns

Damaged Items

All items are carefully inspected by our team prior to dispatch. If an item becomes damaged in transit, you must notify customerservice@phelans.ie no later than 24 hours after receiving your delivery.

Returning Unwanted Items

If your online order does not fit your needs or requirements, you may notify us and return your item within 14 days of receiving your order for a full refund on the price of the product. Exchanges can made up to a maximum of 30 days post-purchase for the value of the returned product, if proof of purchase is provided and goods are as-new. 

Return Criteria

No returns of medicine products can be accepted, whether they have been opened or not, once they have left the pharmacy.

All eligible items must be returned in "as new" condition, including all original packaging, in order to receive a refund. Please ensure any wheelchairs or rollators are suitable before use, as once the tyres demonstrate signs of use, items cannot be refunded. Where products require assembly, products must be carefully dis-assembled and repackaged before being returned to us.

What is Sidena?

Sildenafil is a type of medicine called a PDE5 inhibitor — these work by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis, allowing more blood to flow in when you are sexually stimulated. This helps you get and maintain an erection. Sildenafil does not cause an erection on its own; sexual arousal is still required.

Is Sidena available without a prescription in Ireland?

Yes. Sidena 50mg is available over the counter (OTC) in registered Irish pharmacies without a GP prescription. You will be asked to complete a short pharmacist assessment to confirm the medication is safe and appropriate for you. How do I take Sidena?

Take one Sidena 50mg tablet approximately 60 minutes before sexual activity. Do not take more than one tablet in 24 hours. Sidena can be taken with or without food, though a high-fat meal may slow how quickly it works.

How long does Sidena take to work?

Sidena typically starts working within 30–60 minutes of taking the tablet. Some men notice effects in as little as 15–30 minutes. Sexual stimulation is still required for the medication to take effect.

How long does the effect of Sidena last?

The effects of Sidena can last up to 4–6 hours, though this varies from person to person. This does not mean an erection lasts for the full duration — it means you may be able to achieve an erection with sexual stimulation during this window.

What is the difference between Sidena and Viagra Connect?

Sidena and Viagra Connect both contain sildenafil 50mg as their active ingredient and are clinically identical in terms of effectiveness. The main difference is price — Sidena is typically more affordable than Viagra Connect. Both are available OTC in Ireland following a pharmacist assessment.

Is Sidena the same as generic sildenafil?

Sidena contains sildenafil 50mg — the same active ingredient as Viagra Connect. It is a branded OTC medicine. Generic (unbranded) sildenafil and other strengths such as 100mg remain prescription-only in Ireland. Sidena 50mg is the only form of sildenafil available over the counter in Ireland without a GP prescription.

Can I take Sidena with alcohol?

Drinking alcohol in moderation is unlikely to cause significant problems, but drinking heavily before taking Sidena can reduce its effectiveness and increase the risk of side effects such as dizziness and low blood pressure. It is best to limit alcohol intake before taking Sidena.

What are the side effects of Sidena?

Common side effects of Sidena include headache, facial flushing, indigestion, nasal congestion, and dizziness. These are usually mild and short-lived. In rare cases, more serious side effects such as vision changes or priapism (a prolonged erection lasting more than 4 hours) can occur. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience chest pain or a prolonged erection.

Who should not take Sidena?

Sidena is not suitable for everyone. Do not take Sidena if you take nitrate medicines (commonly prescribed for chest pain or heart conditions), if you have severe heart or liver problems, if you have recently had a stroke or heart attack, or if you have low blood pressure. How does Sidena compare to Cialis for Men?

Sidena (sildenafil 50mg) and Cialis for Men (tadalafil 10mg) are both OTC ED treatments available in Ireland without a GP prescription. Sildenafil (Sidena) typically works within 30–60 minutes and lasts 4–6 hours. Tadalafil (Cialis for Men) takes a little longer to start but lasts up to 36 hours, offering greater flexibility.
