This medicine is used to treat threadworm and other common worm infections of the gut.
This medicine is for use by adults and children aged over 2 years.
Vermox Suspension is a medicine, which is used to treat threadworms (sometimes known as pinworms) and other common worm infections e.g. (whipworm, roundworm, hookworm). The medicine contains mebendazole, which is one of a group of medicines called ‘anthelmintics’.
The dose of vermox depends on the type of worm infection you are treating. The most common worm infection of the gut is threadworm. Please consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.
Directions for use:
Threadworm Infection:
Adults and children over 2 years old: Take one 5ml dose. Repeat after 2-4 weeks. If symptoms are still present a few days after taking the dose, consult your doctor.
Other Common Worm Infections (Ascariasis, trichuriasis, ankylostomiasis and mixed infections):
Adults and children over 2 years old: Take one 5ml dose, morning and night for 3 days.
Other Worm Infections (Taeniasis and strongyloidiasis):
Adults: Take two 5ml doses (10ml) morning and night for 3 days.
Children over 2 years old: Take one 5ml dose morning and night for 3 days.
Your doctor will advise the appropriate dose depending on the type of worm infection.
Special warnings about this medicine
Since threadworms can spread very easily, it is strongly recommended that all the family (except pregnant, breast-feeding women or children under 2 years) are treated at the same time and that suitable hygiene precautions are followed to prevent re-infection.
Warnings:
Do not use this medicine:
- If you are hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the ingredients.
- If you are breast-feeding.
- If you are pregnant or think you are pregnant.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist:
- If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars.
- If you are taking any other medicines, including: Metronidazole (a drug used to treat bacterial and protozoan infections) as a serious skin reaction can rarely occur. Cimetidine (used to treat excess stomach acidity)
Contains:
The active ingredient in Vermox Suspension is: Mebendazole 100 mg per 5 ml.
Other ingredients are: sucrose (sugar)*, microcrystalline cellulose and carmellose sodium, methylparahydroxybenzoate (E218)** and propylparahydroxybenzoate (E216)**, methylcellulose, sodium lauryl sulphate, banana flavour, citric acid monohydrate and purified water

A delivery charge of €5.95 is applied to all orders under €50. We offer free delivery on online orders over €50*

Shipping Schedule
We will ship all goods within 5 working days of receipt of payment from our Webstore based at our Kinsale Road Roundabout, Cork location. If goods are in-stock and don't require a medical consultation, they are usually shipped in 1-2 days. We work exclusively with DPD couriers. We do not ship on weekends or Bank Holidays. If any goods are out of stock, we will advise you of an expected availability date. Please ensure you include a contact telephone number when ordering with us.

Returns
Damaged Items
All items are carefully inspected by our team prior to dispatch. If an item becomes damaged in transit, you must notify customerservice@phelans.ie no later than 24 hours after receiving your delivery.
Returning Unwanted Items
If your online order does not fit your needs or requirements, you may notify us and return your item within 14 days of receiving your order for a full refund on the price of the product. Returns made up to a maximum of 30 days post-purchase will be issued a credit note for the value of the returned product.
Return Criteria
All items must be returned in "as new" condition, including all original packaging, in order to receive a refund. Please ensure any wheelchairs or rollator is suitable before use, as once the tyres demonstrate signs of use, items cannot be refunded. Where products require assembly, products must be carefully dis-assembled and repackaged before being returned to us.
