Vermox Tablets is a medicine which is used to treat threadworms (sometimes known as pinworms) and other common worm infections e.g. whipworm, roundworm, hookworm. The tablets contain mebendazole, which is one of a group of medicines called ‘anthelmintics’. This medicine is for use in adults and children aged over 2 years.
Directions for use
The dose of Vermox depends on the type of worm infection you are treating.
Threadworm Infection:
Adults and children over 2 years old:
Take one tablet, repeat after 2-4 weeks. If symptoms are still present a few days after taking the doses, consult your doctor.
Other Common Worm infections (Ascariasis, trichuriasis, ankylostomiasis and mixed infections)
Adults and children over 2 years old:
Take one tablet morning and night for 3days.
Each chewable tablet contains Mebendazole 100mg.
Warnings:
Do not use Vermox tablets if:
Vermox tablets should not be given to children under 2 years of age
Vermox should only be given to younger children if your doctor has specifically prescribed it. Your doctor will decide whether Vermox is suitable for your child. You must follow the doctor’s instructions carefully.
Contains:
The active substance in Vermox tablets is mebendazole. The tablets contain 100 mg of mebendazole.
The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, talc, maize starch, sodium saccharin, magnesium stearate, cottonseed oil hydrogenated, orange flavour, colloidal anhydrous silica, sodium laurilsulfate, sunset yellow (E110).
